The Pre-licensing Course can be taken in the classroom or by distance learning/virtual classroom. If you choose the classroom version, then you will receive a MV-278 Certificate of Completion. Regardless of which version you select to study, all courses use the same curriculum content. The provider will automatically record your completion at the DMV once you've successfully completed your course. You won't have to present a certificate in order to take your driver's test.
